The Russian-based founders of the site developed the service so people can show their friends how public their downloading habits are, and that is exactly what we’re going to do today.

Armed with the IP-ranges of major Hollywood studios we decided to find out what they’ve been downloading. As expected, it didn’t take us long before we found BitTorrent ‘pirates’ at several leading entertainment industry companies. Yes, these are the same companies who want to disconnect people from the Internet after they’ve been caught sharing copyrighted material.

First up is Sony Pictures Entertainment. As shown below, on this single IP-address alone a wide variety of music and movies have been downloaded. And this is probably just the tip of the iceberg, as YouHaveDownloaded only tracks only a small percentage of all public BitTorrent downloads.

Google’s vaguely titled Browser has inched up from a 16.3 percent share last month to 18.7 percent, counterbalanced by Opera Mini, which declined from just under 19 percent to 13.1 percent.

Similarly, both Symbian and BlackBerry’s mobile browsers dropped a few percentage points, down to 2.6 and 2.4 percent respectively. Siri, a native iPhone app announced alongside the iPhone 4S which it will be released on, is a voice-activated personal organizer, secretary, and information getter – in theory. It’s just in the beta phase, but you can be certain Apple is already in the middle of improving upon what hasn’t even bee released yet. Most smartphone owners, especially those who have Android-powered devices, are no strangers to voice-activated apps. These apps, such as GPS navigation and instant translators, are hit-or-miss and rely on no-nonsense statements spoken clearly and without error. But Siri is designed to behave more like an actual assistant. Spoken commands are apparently allowed to be complicated, as well as the tasks that are asked to be performed themselves.

Users can request information about the suburbs of Toronto and Siri will retrieve the Wikipedia article on the subject. Or you can simply ask for showtimes at a specific local movie theater. Lack of complete understanding does not result in an attempt to please you with the default search result: Siri will speak back to you, asking that you clarify your request. Siri will also be a transcriber too – correctly committing to text anything you utter into the iPhone. This applies to email, texts, and even documents. Android users are familiar with a similar program, but it’s not nearly as reliable in determining what words were actually spoken. As far as what the true future holds for Siri, only Apple knows the truth. And you can bet that they are going to keep it a secret.

Firefox 7 brings with it a host of changes, the most notable of which is perhaps “drastically improved memory handling” and other speed related improvements. Square Enix has announced that the 10th installment in its long-running role-playing game series, Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes will be released for the Wii and Wii U platform in 2012.

Japanese game publisher Square Enix has announced that the 10th installment in its long-running role-playing game series, Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes will be released for the Wii and Wii U platform in 2012. The Wii U version is said to be graphically superior, though both versions can work together. Dragon Quest X is being developed internally by Square Enix, a first for the series.

The game was formally  announced by Yuji Horii on December 10, 2008 at a Dragon Quest conference, it has been called “the highest profile third-party release ever announced for the platform” by Nintendo Power. The battle system appears to be menu-based, but whether it is turn-based or with a real-time component remains to be seen. The game is set in a new world featuring five continents and six playable races. The six races are: Human, Ogre, Elf, Dwarf, Pukuripo, and Wedi.

Upon the initial announcement of the game, Nintendo president and CEO Satoru Iwata compared the Dragon Quest series to the Brain Age series, which was also seen as unmarketable in the West, and declared that he would like to work closely with Square Enix to raise the series’ international appeal. It was also speculated that by MCVUK that it could be released on other formats since Horii never stated that it was exclusive, though noting that the last two Dragon Quest games were exclusive.

The Escapist’s Keane Ng speculated that because it was announced before Dragon Quest IX’s release, it may be along in development. In response to a rumour of being announced on the Japanese variety show Tama Newtown, Kotaku’s Michael McWhertor found it suspicious that Square Enix, which according to him announces games “while top executives stand behind podiums in meeting rooms at Tokyo’s Imperial Hotel”, would announce such a significant title without “more fanfare.” Edge’s Rob Crossley commented that a multi-console release of Dragon Quest X for both the Wii and DS was a “distinct possibility” due to the “financial allure” of such a prospect.
